The Office of Economic Development, in conjunction with the Economic Development Authority, is in the process of developing capacity building programs to provide Fairfax City’s business community with the tools and support needed to strategically and quickly respond to challenges due to the pandemic. We are soliciting feedback from city businesses in this process to help us understand the technical business assistance needed and to identify experts in areas of interest for business recovery and growth.
The capacity building services provided would be free of charge and support business sector and challenge specific needs, even beyond the immediate and typical, as a result of COVID-19. As an example, areas of interest could include:
- business operations, financial management, and grant writing;
- digital strategies;
- legal or professional services;
- technology and software consulting
- re-configuring products or services;
- incorporating safety measures;
- business pivoting consulting services;
- marketing, promotions, and loyalty programs.
Businesses that believe these resources would be of benefit are encouraged to submit their preference on topics by Friday, October 16, 2020 utilzing the link provided here. These programs are only limited by the collective band width of our imaginations. We are listening, please share as many ideas as you have. Once feedback is provided, we will look to create assistance programs and webinars to help businesses recover from the direct impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
