Cameron’s Coffee & Chocolates is the first business enterprise of Every1 Can Work, a non-profit organization that provides employment for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities (ID). At Cameron’s Coffee & Chocolates, the friendly and hardworking employees have the opportunities to do what they love (bake and cook), learn skills, be independent, and socialize with coworkers and new friends.

Tell us a little about Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates.
Every1CanWork is a nonprofit that employs adults with disabilities. Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates is a chocolate and bakery shop that provides an environment where they work with teammates, job coaches, and non-disabled employees serving the Fairfax City community with quality products.
What makes Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates unique to Fairfax City?
Every1CanWork’s mission is to not only employ adults with disabilities, giving them the opportunity to be important members of our community, but also to give them the tools and competence to become more independent.
We also strive to show society that our employees are capable of producing high-end products such as cakes, chocolates, and baked goods.
What encouraged you to take the leap to get started?
Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates opened their doors for business in October of 2013. Ellen and Jim Graham, the founders of Every1CanWork, made the decision to open up Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates after they could not find what they were looking for in an employment setting for their daughter Cameron, who was part of the ID community. They wanted a job where she felt safe, included, guided, and pushed to be the best that she could doing what she loved to do…bake!
What inspired you to open an business in Fairfax City?
Fairfax City provided a small town feel and was very welcoming.
What do you enjoy most about having a business in Fairfax City?
Fairfax City has been very supportive of our community involvement and have always found ways to show that support.
How has Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates changed since its opening?
When we opened our doors in the fall of 2013, we began with 4 employees and 1 job coach. We have now grown to over 20 employees and 5 job coaches. We have expanded square footage of our shop to be able to keep up with the employee growth as well as the growth of chocolate and baked goods sales.
What do customers say they love about Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates?
Many customers have appreciated what our mission is as well as the quality of our products.
What are some of your fondest memories or biggest successes since Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates has been open?
For our workers, the events that the city has allowed Cameron’s to participate in have been the highlights. Specifically, the Chocolate Lover’s Festival – held by the city at Old Town Hall offers the feel of a small town community.
What’s next for Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates?
It is our goal to continue to have a positive effect on more employees in the ID community and offer ever changing products to our customers. We will continue to provide products for our resellers and hope to expand our product reach in this area.
Are there any fun facts you would like residents and visitors to know about Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates?
At Cameron’s, we only use Belgian chocolate and hand dip all of our own chocolates. In 2020, the pandemic pushed us to up our online presence – we now have an online store where you can purchase for pickup in store or for shipping.
When you’re not working, where in Fairfax City do you like to spend your time?
Many of our employees have enjoyed the parks such as Van Dyke Park and attend events at George Mason University.
