Watching the stock market slide up and down by the day, if not wildly by the minute, will give you an ulcer. If you haven’t already done so, it may be time to look into tangibles such as gold, silver, and collectibles! Investments in precious metals, coins, and collectibles have not only been stable, but they continue to appreciate with time – especially in times of great market fluctuations. A great place to start is with the professionals at Fairfax Coin & Collectibles Exchange.
Additionally, if you have coins, collectibles, art, or estates to sell, Fairfax Coin & Collectibles Exchange will professionally evaluate your items in a comfortable environment and purchase them at fair prices. They also offer appraisals for estates or insurance purposes.

Tell us a little about Fairfax Coin & Collectibles Exchange.
We buy and sell coins, currency, bullion, art, and other collectibles, by providing respectful and safe evaluations and purchases in a professional environment. For those who’d like to sell their collections and investment coins/metals, we can help. We work by appointment only and are happy to take your call at 571-464-9080. We also appraise collections for people who want a written evaluation. We charge an hourly rate, and sometimes we go to customers homes when the collection is too large to bring to our office. We do this for anyone regardless of size of the collection, including those who have an estate they need an appraisal for.
What makes Fairfax Coin & Collectibles Exchange unique in Fairfax?
We have the licenses, insurance, and permits to buy and sell coins, metals, gems, and other collectibles from Fairfax residents and beyond. Customers come to us from all over the Metropolitan area. To do this well, we have to keep up with the prices of our market so that we can offer competitive values to our customers. We particularly know coins and that is the driving force behind a lot of what we do. Not just common domestic coins but ancient, rare, unique and foreign coins. We also strive to do our work in a safe, professional and courteous manner, working by appointment only to dedicate time to each collection.
What encouraged you to take the leap to get started?
2020 and 2021 was a scary financial time for market investors but not for gold and silver investors. We saw an opportunity to get involved as a buyer and seller of coins and metals. The owners of Fairfax Coin and Collectibles had a long time fascination with coins so it was a natural fit. It didn’t hurt that the owners found extra time on their hands related to COVID shutdowns in their other business ventures.
What do you enjoy most about having a business in Fairfax City?

Are there any fun facts you would like residents and visitors to know?
Brian enjoys talking to kids who are just starting out collecting coins. We have had a few kids come in to sell their coins, and they are our official Junior Numismatists. Brian has spent time explaining The Silver Story, the history of US coins, and has been able to show them these coins, plus ancient coins that give a history lesson to us all.
