What inspired you to open your business in Fairfax City?
The founder of FedWriters, Mr. Mitchell Cho, was born and raised in Fairfax County and is a resident of Fairfax City; he was also inspired by the city’s proximity to the Nation’s capital. Fairfax City offers the best of a small-town community with a diverse population and modern amenities and businesses such as restaurants, parks, and a business-friendly government (i.e., grants and tax incentives). FedWriters started at the Mason Enterprise Center, the city’s business incubator, and on “graduation,” we were provided incentives such as a business grant to stay in the city. We are proud to be a part of the city’s business community and have cultivated relationships with other city businesses and members of the city council and leadership, as well as department heads at George Mason University.
What do you love most about running your own business?
We at FedWriters are honored and proud to be able to support the U.S. Government and communicate and provide its critical services across national security, economic security, environmental protection, and general prosperity and welfare programs. We are honored to support more than 30 different federal agencies spanning the scope of the federal government, from defense agencies such as the U.S. Marine Corps and the Defense Intelligence Agency, to science-based agencies such as NASA and the National Science Foundation, to civilian agencies including the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Do you have any advice for new business owners?
