Fairfax City, VA – The Fairfax City Economic Development Authority (the “EDA”) today announces the allocation of $36,000 toward the Neighborhood Connected Grant Program (NCGP) for non-profit organizations. This program was created with the objective of supporting our economic development partners’ capacity to develop more strategic, needs-based programming for economic development or economic development-adjacent work throughout the community. Beginning July 18th, eligible non-profit organizations are invited to apply to NCGP, which if selected, would include a maximum grant award of $12,000. The NCGP aims to focus on non-profit entities to support initiatives that stimulate economic growth, promote job creation, foster partnerships in the City, as well as market Fairfax City as a destination for business.
“The NCGP reflects our commitment to developing neighborhood economic development initiatives in the spirit of partnership with our city non-profit organizations,” said Beth Young, Chair of the EDA. “Through this grant program, the EDA aims to support eligible non-profit organizations to advance the mission of their organization, the economic growth and revitalization in the community.”
“The NCGP program recognizes the important work that our non-profits partners do to advance the economic development priorities of the community,” said Christopher Bruno, Director of Economic Development and President and CEO of the EDA. “In partnering with non-profits for this program the EDA is looking to support proposals that create jobs, lift our community, and continue our commitment to collectively moving the city closer to realizing the strategic goals established by the Mayor and the City Council.”
A complete list of eligibility requirements and program information can be found at fairfaxcityconnected.com/ncgp. NCGP applications can either be submitted to matthew.easley@fairfaxva.gov, mailed or delivered in person to the EDA offices located at 10300 Eaton Place, #235, Fairfax, VA 22030.
